Honey Sriracha Shrimp with Stir Fried Sesame Vegetables
A takeout fake-out recipe, all made in one skillet
This Honey Sriracha Shrimp with Stir Fried Sesame Vegetables has quickly become a go-to in our house—especially on those busy baseball nights when we’re running between practices and games. It’s a crowd-pleaser for everyone, from Ryan to the kids, and I love how easy it is to customize.
If shrimp isn’t your thing, swapping in chicken or salmon works just as well—just cook a little longer and drain the juices before adding the sauce. It’s fast enough to make on a hectic weeknight, and leftovers? Perfect for meal-prepped lunches the next day.
This dish brings together sweet, spicy, and savory flavors in a way that makes it feel like you ordered takeout, but easy enough to make even on the busiest days.
Easy Dinners and Lunches ranked highly in a recent poll (57% voted for it!), and this new skillet Honey Sriracha Shrimp with Stir Fried Veggies fits the bill!

6 Amazing Days in New York City
I’ll email a full update (with Broadway and restaurant guides!) soon, but my 40th birthday trip to NYC was truly the best trip ever! I’ve dubbed it my Birthday Broadway Binge trip, and nothing makes me happier. Or should I say “I couldn’t be happier.”🎶
6 days
75 miles walked (and the shin splints and plantar fasciitis to accompany them)
18.5 meals enjoyed (.5 for the 3 extra stops at Modern Bread for treats!)
SEVEN Broadway shows seen (some spectacular, some thought-provoking, some tear-jerking, and 1 that was meh)
Dozens of friends hugged
Millions of beautiful unique faces passed
Endless, endless memories made
Oh and it was actually sunny and beautiful so this California girl didn’t freeze. I can’t wait to share all the details!

Swapping City Streets for Pioneer Feats
The day after we returned from the chic streets and restaurants of Midtown Manhattan, Easton and I completely shifted gears. I swapped my city clothes for country pioneer attire, packed a lunch wrapped in beeswax and cloth complete with homemade yogurt, and headed out for a field trip to the local one-room schoolhouse that was built in 1889. It was a complete change of pace, trading the energy of the city for the quiet of the countryside.
I was so sick (or anxious about getting sick) for much of Asher’s elementary years that I rarely signed up for a field trip like this. I’m making up for lost time and trying to do as many as I can before my youngest two become teens. It’s such sweet time that we can’t get back!
