Oh girl, big happy birthday! I’ve been following you since the beginning and have always felt a kinship (especially with my own high risk 2014 baby, I feel weird saying this, but I remember Aila often). It’s strange how people you’ve never met can feel like your friends, but I gotta tell you, I turned 40 last year and it was the BEST. I’m wishing you true rest with this break and a fantastic year ahead!! Praying your break is a sweet time of recharging.
Happy Birthday and Congratulations on everything that you've accomplished in the last 10 years! Good for you to give yourself a much needed break! Being over 50, I can tell you that the older you get the more you realize that taking care of yourself first is not being selfish, it is giving you the ability to be the best person that you can be in all things that you love. On a personal note, I just have to tell you thank you for everything that you have done to make my life, and the lives of my family members, better by putting all of your wonderful knowledge, delicious recipes, and beautiful spirit into the world! I know that it sometimes takes a lot out of you to put yourself out there, but please know that it is so appreciated!

This was so beautiful and gosh could I relate. I also turned 40 this year and am in a journey of healing, physically and mentally. Forgiving my body, but truly stopping the cycle of being angry at it. Loving my body... even in its imperfectness. Enjoy being off social media and I hope to do the same for good one day. I CAN'T WAIT for kids's stuff. Rooting you on! Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday! What a testimony! The Lord is leading me into a season of rest, too. Sometimes the best fruits come when we let the land lie fallow and simply rest in Christ’s finished works.

Thank you for sharing your journey so publicly and now so intimately on Substack. I've been off social media for a while and one of the few connections I've missed has been you. I had forgotten about your lovely email list and found this post through Google search. I have your cooking course and often pop in just to hear and see you. Your honesty often leaves me tearing up and I am always inspired by your bravery, determination, and confidence in showing up and writing and posting consistently for so many years despite (and because of) your losses and challenges.
