In case you missed the news, we moved!

I burned dinner on the very first night cooking in our new kitchen—but the reason why makes my heart absolutely leap.

One of the biggest reasons we decided to take the leap and move—leaving behind lifelong roots in Northern California and the comfort of being near family—was our hope for a neighborhood and church where we could experience true community. The kind where kids ride bikes until sunset, parents linger in driveways, and people actually know each other’s names.

I’ve been journaling and sorting through all the emotions that came with this move—the signs we felt from God, the moments of clarity (and panic!), and the mix of adventure and peace that ultimately brought us here. And while I’ll share more in time, I can tell you this: we prayed specifically for a street filled with kids, and families who spend time together.

Within our first four days, our younger two brought home three new friends—each! They’ve spent their afternoons just as kids should in the summer: darting between houses, zipping around on scooters and bikes, barely coming inside except for snacks and sunscreen.

Kez met a sweet new friend, and later that evening, her mom walked the girls over to introduce herself—bearing backyard chicken eggs and a thoughtful gift. We ended up standing in the street for a solid 30 minutes, just talking, and excited at how quickly the girls had clicked. Somewhere in that conversation, I forgot the stove was still on.

So yes, dinner was scorched. But my heart—and my daughter’s—was completely full.

Your chia pudding girl is back with another rendition. We eat chia pudding (or my high protein overnight no-oats nearly every morning, so I’m always coming up with new flavors. I have a new matcha-strawberry version on the brain too!

This creamy, high-protein chia pudding meets syrupy spiced peaches and a buttery cobbler-crisp-esque topping. It’s cozy like dessert, but nourishing enough for breakfast, and even better layered into jars for a make-ahead option.
