The story of my burnt broccoli recipe started with my best friend Hillary's husband, Chris. When I would visit and stay at their house, Chris would prepare crispy, overcooked broccoli on most nights...on purpose. And I quickly learned why.
Super crispy, oven-roasted broccoli is absolutely delicious. In fact, it's a great way to get your kids to love this vegetable!
I started sharing my own spin on burnt broccoli years ago. It even has its own hashtag #burntbroccoliisthebestbroccoli.
My version includes a squeeze of lemon and my signature Burnt Broccoli Seasoning Blend.

It may seem strange to have a spice like ground cinnamon in a vegetable mix, but this seasoning is very versatile and I use it on just about everything! It’s amazing on any roasted vegetable - sweet potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, butternut squash, and of course, broccoli. But it’s also wonderful to add to chicken or fish to make an otherwise boring dinner come to life. I put it in Chicken, Broccoli, Rice Casserole too.
