If you’ve been joining me over my private chat, you know I’ve been really working hard to make changes to my book tour to make the evenings less cost prohibitive.
My ultimate hope for a book tour is to be with you. To hear your stories, your requests, answers your questions, inspire you to seek health and joy through food, and get hugs and photos.
The pricing that the theaters set for this tour was not done so with that in mind. So I pulled out of all of them.
And I took the tour on myself, and have been quite literally burning the midnight oil cold-calling local theaters, JCCs, high school auditoriums, co-working spaces, restaurants, and anywhere else that I can find to host us all to be together. I refused to change the date and cities (even though every single person on my agency and publishing team told me to cancel completely). We did that before because of post pandemic surge pricing and personal health concerns, and I did not want to do it again. I want to keep my word. And I want to be with you again (in person!) for the first time in 5 years.
Thank the Lord for Ryan. He’s been my ear and rock as I’ve bounced ideas off of him, gotten excited about what this is turning into, doubted myself and almost gave up, and my forever tech guy - helping me late into the night after his work is done and the kids are in bed to build Eventbrite pages and a whole new ticket website.
We’re close and I’ll be announcing everything this weekend. If you bought tickets to the tour already, the theaters will be emailing you on Monday with a full refund and cancellation email. I do NOT want you to panic. We’re just shifting locations, but most are within 10 minutes of the original!!
AND tickets are now between $3-55 so everyone can come.
Bring your kids, your sister, your mom, your friends.
Some other changes:
Everyone will have access to the photo line to give me a quick hug and snap a photo. Not just the VIP tickets.
Everyone will participate in the Q&A and testimonial time, and I’m going to shorten the author and special guest segment so we have even more time for this
Every copy of Make It Easy will be autographed in advance so we have time to actually hug and grab a photo :)
Smaller, more intimate gatherings. Many of the new venues are smaller than originally planned in order to achieve the low ticket prices. Some are guaranteed to sell out, so please grab them as soon as I announce them to be sure you get yours! If you already had purchased a ticket, I will personally ensure you get another one.
We are still partnering with the local independent booksellers in those cities. They’re all barely hanging on by a thread these days and we need them to remain open (because a small mom and pop bookstore is my absolute favorite thing to peruse when I travel), so there’s an option to add a book on at purchase, and they’ll also be selling additional copies in the lobbies. Please support them, they’ve been so gracious with these changes!

A SUPER Simple Summer Garden Skillet Dinner
In my upcoming cookbook, Make It Easy, the Back Pocket Dinner section features a versatile "recipe" that offers you FOUR different meal options. It uses cooked, sliced sausages paired with a variety of vegetables, seasonings, and sauces to create a framework for a super simple dinner. Perfect for those hectic nights when you need a quick and flavorful meal, but don’t want to cook.
This week’s recipe is similar to that. It’s a fall-back type of dinner that has no frills, but lots of flavor.
Chicken, seasonings, and a variety of summer produce are all cooked in one skillet. The sauce is optional, but I’m obviously loving it right now and putting it on EVERYTHING, because you’ve seen it here on Substack already a few times! It also adds a lot of fiber from all the herbs.
Enjoy the recipe this week, friends and don’t forget to check your email this Sunday!!
PS in case you missed it, the preorder bonus is available for download!!!
